First In Math® Forums: K&S 8 Typo?

   In the K&S 8 Missing Link Category my computer shows no variable for this question:   If 3 = [(27⁴)(81⁵)]/3³⁵, what is the value for a?  The "answer"  is -3.  Is it my computer or a typo?

	We have found a few typos so I imagine it is that. I believe that it wants 'a' to be the exponent 3 is raised to if you solve the problem. It comes out to be 3 to the 32 power divided by 3 to the 35 power which equals 3 to the negative 3 power. Another one is in the passing time game. It will list two 7:15 choices but not a third. Try the 5:15 option with the 7:15s and it works!

	If you see what you think is a typo, please take a screen shot and email it to help@firstinmath.com We obviously want to correct any errors! Actually, what is happening in many of these cases is a "font" issue--we insert a "special" character that not all browsers interpret correctly.

	Thanks for your posts. We were probably running Firefox 1.5.something at the time. I suspect it was the browser. Sending screen shots to FIM help is good info!

	The Passing Time error Teach567 sp*** of was a small glitch that was fixed as soon as it was reported. This has been corrected. If you are still seeing this somehow, please empty the browser cache on your computer, to be sure you are loading a new game. The other issue regarding the rendering of some of the exponents in the Know & Show 8 game was also fixed the same day it was reported.:) Edited by lin1 - 08 Apr 2009 at 2:02pm
