First-In-Math Forums: pemdas problem

   One of my students and her mother brought this problem to my attention:  4²+3(6+2)/8

By completing the order of operations, the answer they came up with was 19, but that was an incorrect response.  They asked me to complete it and I got 19 as my answer, as well.  I asked two other teachers and they got 19, too.  What are we doing wrong?

	What game was this in? One of the three ALgebra games? Exponents? ONe of the Know and Show modules? 19 is the right answer, but without knowing any detail this would be tough to troubleshoot. 	Dear MMullin, Thanks for contacting help@firstinmath.com! You were right, and with your additional input we were able to located the incorrect answer choice in K&S 8, Category 2 (Yakity Yak), problem #8!! It has been corrected. Thank your eagle-eyed student and parent for finding this. And thank you for reporting it to us. We certainly strive for 100% correct, but every one in a while there is a typo or an error.
